Got my spray gun
i stopped at Sears on my way home tonight and picked up a Craftsman HVLP spray gun for $110
i know its not the best but i figure it should suit my needs fine
i'm going to be painting the car in the spring time and i need to know what type of paint has the least smell to it, i dont want my neighbors flipping out and i sure dont want to kill my dogs
also, i am going to repaint my Z28 grille in a few weeks, what would be an appropriate type of paint to use on it? (it is plastic)
i will post more questions as they come into my head
thanx

Will you be painting the car in a garage or outside in a makeshift booth? All paint has an odor to it but if you are paiting inside you can vent out a window or two with a box fan with 24"x24" furnace filters doubled up on them. This will help a little with the smell and alot with the possibility of overspray getting out of the garage. I've never had any complaints about smell, but I don't think my neighbors(or anyone's) would want overspray on their cars if they are parked close to where you are working.

i do have a pretty large piece of property though so i dont think the transfer of overspray will a problem

I would't worry about the smell too much then. Outside your booth the paint smell won't be nearly as concentrated. Just make sure yor dog keeps his distance.
