Good spoiler for 88 Formula? Need pics...
Hi all, anyone have pics of a ~88 Formula or any Firebird with aftermarket spoilers? I am thinking of getting a 4th gen style spoiler and was hoping someone had some pics of a completed and painted one...TIA... This is what mine looks like now...
You can tell the OEM rubber spoiler is trashed...
Also, does any one have pics of what it would look like without a spoiler?

I posted this on another thread but here it is incase you missed it. I know you wanted painted pics but I ran out of film and never bothered to take any more before I tucked it away. There is a pic of my car there without the spoiler like you wanted as well as lots of different angles with the 4th gen wing after I converted it. It might give you an idea what it will look like on your car hopefully!

I should add that I prefer the aerowing look but my choice came down to one of money. I think the total cost was roughly 150 for the 4th gen wing, 13 dollars for fiberglass, 92 dollars for a pint of the correct white paint and about 10 bucks in beer. I live in Canada so to have a 3rd gen wing sent up here and painted it would have been about 600 dollars as opposed to 250. The extra cash saved bought some ET Streets to use in the spring

Hmmm, that's a good point. I know I can get the 91-92 for about 150, and a 4th gen for ~200, and the original style in fiberglass is ~350. I do like the 91-92, and the 4th gen. It's a tougie, for sure.

Most deff go with your on decission, but I have an 88 Formula and I molded a 2000 Trans Am wing to my hatch and it looks amazing so dont let anyone tell you that the 4th gen wings dont look good on the Formula's....

I'd stick with the 85-90 style. I think it's the best looking wing for the birds.

You should listen to Zepher, he's had just about every spoiler you can imagine on his car at one point or another!!
I have no idea how the 91-92 spoilers mount up, I would say worse case scenario is you have to fill a few holes and make some new ones.
Its a tough descision, any one of those will look sweet though!

When I had the base spoiler on my trans am and put the 91-92 spoiler on, it used one of the stock holes on each side and I had to drill the another one on each side.
I haven't looked at the bolt pattern on the 85-90 style.
Here is the 91-92 style on my 86,
Also, with the right wheels on the car, you can get away with no spoiler,

LOL, yeah Zepher, you can. And those happen to be what's going on the car next week... BTW, I still have that video of your car when you got it running and took it down the street...Great vid.. I am thinking 91-92 style, it seems to be the lightest and is quite tasteful...I'll keep thinking about it til I order it... Thanks for the pics!
