i couldn't find this answer clearly when i did a search...
will an auto center console out of a 99 camaro fit into a auto 86 firebird? how much modification would be involved?

no. not directly, a manual one will fit direct, an auto one requires changing the lenghs of the cables, setting an re setting. alot of work. there should be alot of threads about this
