Trunk motor won't stop
The trunk motor on my car won't stop pullling down and it isn't even moving the trunk. For now I just disconected the motor but the hatch isn't lined up right to close all the way. Is there a cheap easy way to fix this or should I just shell out the dough for a rebuild kit.

Shell out the dough for a rebuild kit. Sounds like the gear nut is stripped. Try Lonsal at TDS, theres a shortcut at the top of the page. Hes very knowledgeable about these trunk motors.

The gearnut is bad. You can buy it from GM. I stock them as well as TDS p/n 109111. While you have it apart check the condition of the guides that are between the latch portion and the track. Also look at the condition of the clear plastic motor housing. It is common for both items to break. I sell aftermarket guides that are MUCH stronger than the OEM version. I also reinforce the plastic motor housings with 4 pieces of aluminum and epoxy. The "Rebuild Kit" includes a new gearnut, guides, reinforced motor housing, Permatex white lithium grease and a 4 page comprehensive instructions on how to repair the hatch pull-down unit.
