Power Windows

Ever been at a stop light when someone in the car next to you wants to say something... so you have to reach over far enough to roll down the window while at the same time making sure your foot doesn't slip off the break? Well I have and I don't like it so that is where power windows come in.

I think I only have 3 questions:
1) Junkyard the best bet .. and how much $?
2) Where is the hot lead run from?
3)Motor mounting a problem?

Thanks.

I wouldn't go to a junkyard again for ANYTHING electrical. The ones near me have various vehicles in various stages of disassembly because people needed parts, and as a result, rain and snow get in there and destroy the parts. Electrics are cheap at junkyards for a reson- they probabaly won't work!

Car: 91 Camaro RS
Engine: 305 TBI, (right now)
when i replaced my widow motor in my 91 i had a few problems. Like for example rivets suck ***. You should go to eaby and get your window motors from there, they'll be slightly cheaper, but good quality. Get other hardware(like sissors, and gear ) from a junk yard and make sure you buy new rollers for your track. get some little screws and and drill holes in your door(if not already there), also look are where the stock location for the motor would go on a car like yours. And get one of those books and check all the wiring im sure it runs into your circuit box, and a hot wire goes through it there. one more think, that mechanisim with the sissors is in tension when you put it in the car, i almost chopped my fingers off when i changed mine. and grease the rollers or you'll get serious squweks
