Tightening gas pedal

My gas pedal seems to wiggle a lot side-to-side and i was just wondering if there is an easy way to fix that. i haven't gotten up under there yet to check it out too closely, and just thought maybe some of you had this same thing. thanks for any help :lala:

Gas pedal arm, held in place by a metal bracket bolted to the firewall and retained with a cheap plastic cover.
Pedal itself, held in place with a spring and a pin.
Slack in pedal=wear in crappy engineered parts (kind of like the door hinge bushings)
