If i paint my car like i plan to, metallic blue, i was thinking it would be kinda neat to have some custom seats. What i am picturing is some SS seats from a fourthgen, but have them dyed blue with white piping or whatever that stuffs called....and some custom 5 pt harness holes made....How much would that cost? Could i do it myself with some time/patience/ practice?
does anyone sell good seat covers in different colors? what about kits for doing the holes for the shoulder harnesses or whatever? anyone done this and have pics? thx

I didnt remember that they did stuff for camaro and firebird, cause i'm also a big fiero fan and i know they make some awsome fiero seat covers. Thx again

yeah what i'm looking for is something like this....pardon the rough photoshop, but blue like that with white piping and some clean slots for a 5 pt harness to go through.....and i really like the SS seats, not really a big fan of the trans am seats....

Could i have the seats colord like that? how much would that run me? and as for the harness slots?

Well the car is gonna be painted most likely this color blue, so it goes well, especially with white.

I think that's awesome. Good photoshop job too, to at least make your point. I would go with black harnesses, though.

black harness for sure. If youre going black and blue as your colours, id go with black seats with a bunch of blue accents. If everything is the same blue colour it all just blends together.

Yea I agree with doug. I was thinking about the same thing for my car, but it would look weird. Lots of blue accents would like nice tho. Theres actually someone on ebay that sells blue carbon fiber kits for our cars. That would look cool.

well yeah i'd go with another color harness, i just chose red to quickly show, and also so that it didnt look like just a bunch of black stuff all over the seats lol

Black with blue accents....ehhh.....well heres what i'm planning on doing with the paint.....

Grand Sport blue (Whatever its real name is) with some white/silver flames.....so blue and white is the color combo for the exterior. I will probably end up getting white carpet, (or light grey), even though i know every little bit of dirt will show up. So i kinda want to stick with blue seats and white accents. Yeah, i've seen those kits on ebay....pretty neat :-D
So no ideas how to get blue SS seats?

What about the harness slots?

some kid at my highschool has a civic that everything inside is either yellow or white, the seats are white with yellow accents....how do they do it?

hey speeding penguin...how bout selling me those seats and you get some new racing leather ones...jk, but i really would love to have those for mine. As for the seats...check with a good local upolstery shop...they should be able to hook you up with what your looking for...friend of mine got new white leather covers for his custom fitted. Cost a butt load of money though...personally i;d go with some race style seats and the harnesses. Love those seats...and if you ever want to get rid of them let me know!

In a way i like the racing seats, but i dunno.....most of the ones i see arent what i'm looking for....i want comfort, support, style, and leather not cloth. I also dont want to spend 2 arms and a leg.

Would it be possible to just take the stock seat covers off and have them colored somewhere? how much ya think that would cost?

dare i say it... find a set of Ford Probe GT seats from a 94-95 i do believe. they have a nice agressive styling, heavy side bolsters, and a big hole in the back that would be perfect to put a Y harness through. my buddy had 5 points in his '74 Formula 400 and we cant get them to stay up on the side/back of the seat, they always fall off of your shoulder. i've got another budyy witha '72 Firebird, him and i are both planning on running stock 4th Gen seats. from the factory the headrests have seatbelt guides in them on the outside. well the headrests are interchangable left to right. so we're going to buy extra seat belt guides and put them on both sides of the seats.
