taillight filler panels?
Does anybody know of any steel taillight inserts. I am putting in some custom taillights and want to fill the existing tail light positions. I am looking for weld in steel inserts like the ones that are made for S-10s and full size pick-ups.
Know of any? Thanks for any responses.

I don't know of any, but if you're using an existing light and not completely custom, i.e. you're putting corvette lights on a camaro, rather than a one-off light that you created, you could always cut the tail light buckets from your donor vehicle or a junkyard vehicle, and then just weld them to a flat sheet of metal that way.
I don't think you're going to find any aftermarket tail light mods at all. They don't even make altezza's for our cars. The only thing you're going to find is blackouts, and if you're extremely lucky, you might find an old used corvette taillight panel like the one Wraith has, but these aren't produced anymore, and they were fiberglass.

Why not make one? Go to Home Depot, get a piece of steel, take you old stock tailight, make a pattern, bend and cut it. Then you can make your holes for your new lights anyhow you like.

Yeah, I have been considering making my own but if I could buy them, it would save me some fab. time. I could use the time to do my console, door panels, seat upholstry, floorboards, bumper, suspension, etc, etc,......
I am kind of a "frugal" person but am not afraid to spend money on something that could save me time. I have alot of other work that needs to get done. This car is a FULL CUSTOM project. Most of the work I am doing myself. So time is VERY valuable. Otherwise this car may never get finished.

Yeah, I was thinking of doint the same thing. . . Me and my brother are into trucks as well. He has a bagged Mazda that me and him worked on. I was thinking of making some panels and putting something like Supra lights or some flamed ones like sport trucks. Another non-metal option is finding some lenses and fiberglassing. Using the inside of the lense as a mold. Just giving options!
