Ouch man that really sucks. What happened? If you need somewhere to keep your engine I'll be a nice guy and let you keep it under the hood of my car for a while...

I am planning on doing a 4th gen f'bird interior because I want the triple vents on the dash for my gauges and the speaker/tweeter pods on the doorpanels. I am swapping in a t56 and adding bigger brakes and just better parts all around everywhere I can before I roll it out of the garage.

Ouch getting in wrecks always sucks, but remember it could have been worse. Just the other day I saw a newer Ford Taurus that was hit by one of those big Penske box trucks and the whole passenger side of the car was crushed in pass the center line of the car.

Was it totaled ?
How did you wreck it?
If it wasn't totaled, why dont you fix it?
It looks like it's just minor body damage. We need more pics.

Oh well. I've got this straight 84 Z that I'm turning to a 91-92 bodystyle clone w/ a 4th gen interior and t56 .Hopefully I will have it running by the summer. And it will be better than the 91

Sounds cool about the new project, be sure to keep us posted on progress! As far as the car goes; that's terrible to see, at least you're ok, right? Not emotionally I assume, but you know what I mean

Yeah and i feel your pain d00d with the wrecks, once the car is wrecked and then fixed its never fully the same is it?

I seriously feel your frustration, RSpeed. I totalled my RS Valentine's Day....I don't even want to think about it.
I hope you can get that car fixed and back on the road soon! I agree with the sentiments already expressed - you have a very nice 3rd gen!

The wheels are ROH Snypers, 17x9. A few people on the boards around here have them. I got them about two years ago and if I remember right, thay ran me about $218(?) ea. from www.groupawheels.com.

I feel your pain man. I've been there. Bout the only bit of advice I can give is to not let it become too big of an issue. All good things come to an end, and ends mean new beginnings. Best of luck with your new/old car and I'm glad you came out of the wreck ok.

Aww that sucks man. I totalled my first maro about a year and a half ago. I cried for like a week, it looked alot worse than your car did, got some pics at home try to scan em if i remember... I was waitin to find another one before I turned it into insurance so I could swap parts and such, and I had to look at it every day for like 5 months. I was also driving a giant church van at the time which didnt make matters any better. Good luck with the swap!

I feel your pain man. I decided not to have my car totaled and now it is my new project. My snypers were damaged pretty good. When the front tire went down it rubbed in the gravel and asphalt taking the lip down quite a bit. Did your snypers get damaged? I hit a concrete wall and bounced off it pretty hard in the rain. Now I get to learn body work......

Man, I can remember seeing pics of your car when it was nice. I didn't know you wrecked it (haven't been on the boards for a while). Sorry to see it happened to you too. One of my wheels got scraped up some on the lip, and the clearcoat started peeling. If it wasn't for the slight bend in the front subframe, I would have fixed it back up again. After the insurance company deemed it totalled,I bought it back from them for $500. I had plans to fix it back up, but the closer I looked, the more work I saw coming. It would have cost me more to fix it than to just swap the drivetrain, suspension parts, etc to my 84 Z. But, now I have a fresh start on the 84 to do what I was dreading to do to the 91 when the 91 was still intact (tearing it down to install t56,complete new brake system, new heads on motor, 4th gen int., then putting it back together again).

When did you wreck your car, Shifty? Man, it pains me to see that picture. Still, even damaged, your car looks quite clean!
That's precisely how I totalled my RS, I ran into a concrete railing on a bridge in the rain. I wasn't driving fast or reckless, there is an ill conceived uphill curve proceeding the bridge and the car hydroplaned at around thirty miles per hour.
Anyway, I hope both you and RSpeed can get your cars repaired and back on the road soon. We've lost far too many nice 3rd gens this year!

Well not to jump this thread but I wrecked the car in the rain in early may. Two dyas out of storage. I have had two quotes and it looks like it will cost over 7k to fix her. I tried to sell her but I just could not do it. I hydroplaned into a wall going a whoppin' 25 mph in a 45 zone. I did not get a ticket because the city is reviewing the onramp because of all the accidents. The whole thing stings pretty hard but she has become my new project. I had a little money to get the front end pulled out and to buy a new tire. I will be posting here in a few weeks of some progress pics. I think there is still a problem with the front end and I have a pic to take that I need some experts to look at. Also I have some SERIOUS rattles coming from up front somewhere. I decided to keep the car because it has every bolt on plus only has 34,500 miles on her. Now that she is not origonal anymore some serious motor plans are in the works. I graduate in May and plan to take off with the car. For now I will make the payments on my 1995 Z. It helps with the pain
One more shot of the front. You can see where the rivet on the wall ripped through the side of the car like a can opener.

actually RS, if you're wanting to keep your 91.....I know an excellent bodyshop in SouthEast Texas that would do your car some justice.
My car went from this:
to this:
The guy's not afraid of frame work (mine spent 10+ hours on the puller) and this is the second car on these board's he's done that we know of. He's an f-body fanatic and the price was fantastic for me. If you want some more information, let me know.

EYECANDY - GTA's looking good after that horrific front end damage. Thanks for the info, but I think it's time to get rid of the RS. This will be the third time that it has been wrecked. Seems like it's just not meant to be Besides, my new project has ttops, which is one thing I miss about my 84 and 86 T/A's I used to have).
Oh well. Hopefully I'll have much better luckwith my new project.
Oh, and 84CUSTOMZ28 , that's a nice car you have there.
