t-top weatherstrip removal

ok d00ds i have a t-top leak still and i know why it is. I have perfectly good t-top weatherstrip because the previous owner got new ones 2 years ago. He did a **** pore job and they leak again. KI need to take them out to repaint the area and to just fix the entire leak. BUTTTTT i am on a very low budget at the time and need to keep the current weather stripping. Can it be done reasonably easily, to take the old stuff off then put it back on. If so please tell me what i could do to make sure i dont f*ck things up.

I have been told thats its held on by gurella snot but i wanna be sure. Is ther something i could buy to remove the adhesive.

That is a tricky thing. I believe that once the weather stripping is removed, you have to replace it. I believe the pulling it off part might actually stretch it and cause it not to fit properly. I'm not a pro on this so don't take my word as gospel. P.S., soon I'll have to do mine so I know what you mean about the cost thing(very expensive)

use yellow or black snot to hold the strips down and use black silcone to patch up. refer to the the tech section on sealing t-tops it worked for me. give it a shot and get GM T-Top seals the rest will not fit that well and leak. go orginal a little $$$$ but worth it.

there is no way to remove them and reuse them unless the previous owner made the mistake of not gluing them. and i agree fully get the gm orig seals i used them on my z and not a leak since. fits great. now i just gotta fix the trunk leak, i beleive it is the deack lid where the glass meets. good thing i am preping for paint i can do it then.
