4th gen front seatbelts
I did a search but didn't get any straight answers.
My question is simple...will front seatbelts from a 4th gen work? or Would their be some modifing involved?

Only modification that is involved (and that's really if you're set on doing it) is to modify the bottom bracket to fit the different angle the 4th gen belts bolt in at. When I did mine, I just bolted them in and delt with the plastic being bent a little. Most will never notice it. And you know what...they still work fantastic. Saved my life in May of this year.

So your saying they work good? I wouldn't trust mine in a wreck...I don't think they would hold...sometimes the belt gets stuck and I have to crawl underneath the belt.

i have a set of 4th gen belts, but i haven't done anything with my interior yet, so they're not in. something was wrong with my old ones where the previous owner felt the need to wrap them in duct tape, so i didn't trust them, not to mention they looked like ***. from the front page of tgo, go to the tech articles, there is one in there that tells you what you have to do.

Yep, good call Diabolical, I went by that tech article when I did my 4th gen seatbelt install and everything went smoothly. I didn't take my headliner down, but was very careful working up there installing the retractors so as not to damage the headliner. Everything worked out great and the seatbelts work awesome! Down on the floor I just did what the tech writeup said and removed the 3rd gen lower retractor bracket completely and bolted the 4th gen belt in using the same mount point the bracket had been using. If you've got any other questions feel free to ask me. I actually did carpet, 4th gen seats and 4th gen belts all as one project and I LOVE how it came out (carpet could have been better if I'd spent more time with it I think, but it should settle in as it gets used) Anyway, good luck, 4th gen seatbelts are wayyyy better than 3rd gen ones!!!

I have no headliner up right now so I should be ok there.
I need to fix my weather stripping so I can get a new headliner and a new set of 4th gen seats....
