Tail light question

Car: 1987 Trans Am GTA
Engine: 350 TPI
Transmission: 700 R-4
Tail light question
I need to swap out the drivers side tail light but i am not sure how to take it out. any pointers?

if it's anything like the camaro tail lights, open the hatch, take out the rear interior panel (it should slip off by taking out a few large plastic screws) and then you should see some plastic wing nuts that you can take off by hand. (maybe 4-5 of them per side).
pull it out slowly (so you don't rip any of the wires out of the light pockets) and unscrew (about a quarter turn then they should pull right out) all the lights from the back, now it's totaly free from the car.

yup, error 404 is right, firebirds are the same....5 wingnuts. The only pain is in the fact that the drivers side has a full side trim panel from the door back (passenger side has the small one for spare tire access). This means that you have to pull out the plastic clips this as well (2 along the top by the hatch and 1 on the back in the tail light area). This should be enough to gently pull it back to gain access to the 5th wing nut way in the corner....if not you have to remove the attachment at the hatch strut mouting point as well.
