Fiberglass Worth it?

Im currently working on rebuilding my 1986 firebird, which has seen some better days. The interior is in good condition but it could be better, i want to build a fiberglass dash, running down to the console to give it a totally custom, look, i dont really have the cash to shell out to get a new customized dash done for me so i want to take on the project myself, i got the time, and i was just wondering if anyone out there had any tips, ideas, pictures basically anything that i could find useful, Thnx

p.s after im done with the front im looking to buil custom mounts for my 6X9s and subs

I also would like to know how to fiberglass interior panels... it would make things much easier. But what I do know is that it is easy to make your own console. All you need are strips of plexi-glass and a hair-dryer. You just heat the plexi-glass up, then bend it to whatever shape you want. You could probably do that for the dashpad as well, lay a peice of plexi-glass over the top of the dashpad and heat it up until it takes the shape.

fiberglass is easy to get started with, but it's hard to get really good at it. did you do a search here? i know many people have asked similar questions to yours, and i know in at least one of those posts, someone listed a few sites that have great faq's and tutorials on using glass.
