joshwilson3: No the piece the taillights bolt to is not adjustable. It's just sheetmetal though, and when your taillights are bolted on and interior panels are in place, you don't see very much of it. A body shop (or students of an auto body class) can probably pound it back into shape.

The back bumper may be fixable if it's just cracked and no pieces are missing. The college body shop class might want to try that too. If not, used bumper covers are cheap. Used taillights you can get cheap too. You might want to take the bumper cover off and see what happened to the impact bar/absorber. If they're messed up, again, you can find them cheap.

BTW: I love the avatar. Jay & S.B. rock.

These pics might help you out

The only adjustments that can be made at the latch is up and down, not forward and backward. What if you temporarily close up the gap between the rear window glass and the roof? It might leak some water, but it'll close if you can get it close enough.

Matt

EDIT: You could probably put some washers between the body and the latch to move it forward some also

It's pretty straightforward to remove all that stuff. To remove the taillights, remove all the big plastic nuts on the inside rear of the back panel. Should be something like 5 for each light. Once you have those out of the way, remove the liscense plate bracket. 2 10mm bolts hold this on. Then you have 3 10mm nuts on each side of the car to remove the bumper cover, tucked all the way by the quarter panels. After you get those off, remove all the vinyl clips along the top and bottom of the rear bumper cover, and it'll slide right off. You're going to want to look for any kind of dents, creasing in the sheet metal that looks like it doesn't belong, really just anything out of the ordinary.

For your car's value, check out KBB.com or edmunds.com.

I'm pretty tired as I'm typing this, so if anything is unclear just ask

Matt

EDIT: this is for a camaro, so it might be alillte bit different for your bird
