what cluster does 83 z28 have?
k when i got my car the cluster was all out no screws in it and so on. so i put it back in there. but the speedo, rpm, oil, and Ks dont work just the bat and gas work. so i got a new cluster (same clust type) but it still dont work. i was thinking could it be possible that who ever did this had a problem with the gauge before and put in another one but it was the wrong one and thats y it dont work. so could u guys tell me all the diffrent clusters that come with a 83 z28. and could this be the problem.
more strange things it does>when i turn lights on the bat gauge goes right down like car is off/turn off it goes back to normal.
right turn signal light always says one. left dont blink. (we are talking just the green arrow, out side is fine) when ever signal is clicking rpm arrow goes down (its always pegged normaly) and bat gauge flicks with the signal. i am going nuts here!!!!! would haveing the wrong cluster cause something like that to happen??
thanks

To add, certain models/years had the fasten seatbelt light and e-brake light in different spots. This however, does not affect gauge operation. Even if the car was originally equipped with idiot lights, replaceing the cluster for one with gauges should still operate normally (after changing to the proper sending units for oil and temp).
Cleaning the contacts on the cluster harness pins and assuring they have a good arc is a good place to start if the cluster has been out more than a few times.
