Recovering Headliner Question
Ok, right now I am in the process of recovering my headliner. I have taken all the old foam crap on and glued the top part of the fabric on. I still need to glue the remaining fabric on the other side. I was wondering if I could put another layer of fabric on. Has anyone done this before and know if it will work or not? I just want to know if it will hold up or not. I am using 3M general trim adhesive for the glue. Thanks.

HEy.. i just installed my headliner kit from Hawks... it went it sort of easy!!!... the bad part is that i have the over head console for the t tops.... that sucked making the cuts for them... i messed up a lil on it, from when i made the template from my old liner.... Well anyway... when i got the car it looks like the guy Spray glued the fabric onto the fiberglass, insulation looking headbord..... IT MADE A MESS INSIDE THE CAR!!! the glue came un sticky and all the **** would be all over my car... it was dirty... it looks like he did it awhile ago though... give it a try.. if it doesnt come out right at least you didnt spend too much money on it...
let me know how it comes out.... I have to do my sail panels....

I finished recovering my headliner yesterday and it came out pretty good. It was a pain in the *** though scrapping all the old foam off and doing the corners. Other than that it wasnt that bad. Since it turned out pretty good i think im gonna just stay with one layer for know and see how it holds up on the highway and stuff.
I also recovered my sail panels but i didnt remove the old fabric. I just cleaned it up and glued all the edges. Then to make sure it stays in place I put some staples around the edges. Since you need to recover your sail panels just do it like me that way they feel nice and soft
