How to remove this steering colum (pic included)

I got it down to this and I cant find out how to pull this one metal peice off. If anyone knows whats holding it on please tell me.

The problem was the wheel was loose as in it would shake up and down left and right even while in park. I found two screws inside this metal deal that are loose. I just need to get to it and its pretty much got me stumped. Good old haynes manual is as good as nothing as usual lol.

here is the pic. thanx ppl

There are one of these on each side. Maybe they have to be pulled out, they cant screw in and the have a screw hole. Looks like I need some kinda pully (screw and a washer) lol

You don't have to go that far to tighten them up look at the tech article

https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/t...ngcolumn.shtml

I have done it a few times on different cars, it works great, I did it before I discovered this site.

man.. I got dark so I put a florcent light on my t-tops to shine light through so I could still work lol I got attacted by bugs! A locus flew right behind the seat and my back so not exactly knowing what it was I leaned back to squash it lol it screamed out really loud lol and those little things are tough, I woulnt be able to squash it with my back so I got up and turned around and it went under the seat. Great.. just what I need.. a locus under my seat as I work on my stearing colum. I left the door open and it flew around in there so I threw stuff at it so it would fly out the door lol. It finnaly went. At that point I just shut the door and worked.

hmm... disconnect the battery huh? Well I dont have an air bag so.. blah. I didnt even think of that. I was listening to music and blowing air, I didnt care coz my dads truck was right there if I needed a jump. Well it got down to 8 volts and lol that killed it. So I didnt get it all together just yet. I want to make sure it starts up before I pop the wheel back on. One more thing.. I HATE THAT LITTLE SPRING THAT GAVE ME HELL!!! LOL.

oh and Mr locus cam back to bother me.. so I came back with my bb gun to bother him. Shot him through the side then put him on the micorwave to scare my brothers gf lmao.
