i hope i can pull the engine and the transmission, maybe i can drop them into another trans am body...what do you guys think? we dont know whos fault it is yet or whos going to pay. im going to the police station today to straighten things out...the cops didnt take my statement at the scene of the accident, which is kinda odd, so im going to the police station to tell them what happened

sorry to hear about your loss
and as for whose fault, if you were making a left turn and got hit, you're fooked! unless you have a good lawyer and can convince the judge that the guy was travelling way to fast or somethin

Call me crazy.... but can you get another door and cut out the passenger side floor to weld another in...? If you know anyone who does bodywork... anything can be done!! I'm saying this 'cause that is one hell of a nice looking car!
Oh yah, when I got rear-ended in my 84 Z-28, it was TOTALLY their fault, and they got a statement from me... so I don't really get that, unless the cop didn't want to even hear your side... that wouldn't be a first.
Looks like a real hard hit too... glad you're ok!! With all my rot... I woulda eaten his radiator

If this happened:
You being the green arrow, this would be your fault unless you had right of way for some reason, like a green arrow or something. By default, you don't have right of way. If there were two lanes, and the SUV went straight through a turn-only lane, then it's their fault. Trying to prove that the other guy was speeding is a lot more difficult, but you could try it as a last resort if that was the case.
If this is what happened:
Again, you as the green arrow, this would also be your fault unless you had right of way, such as a green light. Again, you could check for turn-only lanes or if they ran a red light.
So what happened?
If you need any help with rebuilding it or swapping parts into a new car in the future, drop an email or PM to me, I'll gladly come help out. I'm in Bloomfield.

id say since he was hit on the passenger side the other driver ran the red light just as it changed from yellow to red becuz he didnt want to wait becuz he was impactient basturd. And as the green light came on u were moving and since the other guy ran the red light to make it hom early he smashed into the side of ur car and from the hit it started to sping him but wasnt enuff to spin alot.
thats my idear of it becuz NJ drivers like to make the last second red light run so there not sittin waitin becuz those people are *******s. sorry i just hate NJ

CaysE, unfortunatly, #1 happened. we both had a green light...and when i got into the intersection the light turned yellow as i began making my turn. the suv/minivan saw the light turn yellow and i guess decided not to wait.

So the SUV ran the red light. If it was still yellow for you after you passed the crosswalk lines, you should be not at fault.

I hate Suvs. I gate insurance companys. I hate NJ.
A girl and a white SUV hit my 91 gta . I was going straight thorugh an intersection and i it was green for both of us, the girl didnt see me and she turned qwithout looking. This was MAy 25th. Allsate is trying to say that its only 90% her fault beciuas eshe clames i was 80 ft away but i was maybe 10-20.
Anyways i settled for 905 and had to pay 300.000 to repair the car at the body shop. I just got it back, and i only have to ill august 25th before i have to sell it! I already have started posting adds, the car looks beautiful now, and I sorry to see it go.
I hope everything goes well for you unlike it did with me.

That's a shame. Oh well, that's what insurance is for and you are ok. Get your check and go buy another GTA. I'll be the first circling vulture. Wanna sell the wheels? I need to rears to mount some drag radials to.
