mechanical 145mph speedo part number

mechanical 145mph speedo part number

from what i have read here the only mechanical 145 mph speedo is from a 85 IROC....anyone know the part number and if it is still avalible from GM?

Transmission: T-5 (Non-WC)
Axle/Gears: Limited Slip 3.23's
Mechanicals were in some Camaros from late 86 until 89. Sorry, I can't provide a GM part number. Should you be searching for something used, the Hollander part number is as follows: 257-1058B. You'll probably be asked about gear ratios, but those are insignificant. Plug and play.

cool..thanks for the help....so a 145mph speedo from any 86-89 Camaro will work?

Yes, any will work. I suggest that you simply swap in the speedo head (that way you're assured that all guages will work, providing they already do, of course). This would also be a good time to consider higher intensity 194s and/or white-faced guages. By the way, should the trip odometer be important to you, be careful because many are non-functional--extremely poor engineering on GM's part.
