Redid My LED Gauges Tonight...Pics Inside
I redid my LED gauges tonight because I wasn't totally happy with how they came out the first time. I now have 3 bulbs per socket in 7 of the sockets and 2 bulbs per socket in 4 of them. I also used a straw from a WD-40 can to insulate the wires on the LED's so I won't have any shorting problems anymore.
I'm much happier now, however I still think that the backlit gauges are much more suited for this project. I believe that's the type Odyssey has?
If anyone is looking for blue LED's for their project let me know because I have about 20 or 30 left that I'll sell for cheap.

i REALLY want to do mine, but i have a prob..
the stock gauges on my car ( 91 camaro gauges) are YELLOW.
so any blue backlight would make them come out GREEN....
others like Odyssey get away with it because they put diffrent gauge faces on it.
but i DONT WANT WHITE FACE GAUGES!
I THINK THEY LOOK UGLY!
NO! NO! NO! i DONT want to put white face gauges in.
that said, anyone know any BLACK face gauges with WHITE numbers that i can use so that i can have the blue backlight?

Make them yourself. I think there are files floating all around here with the gauge faces that you can print out and use. Most of them are whiteface, but you can probably invert the colors with like Photoshop or something.

That looks awesome. Someday I'm gonna do mine, but I'm just gonna use the premade LED bulb things.

No... I just have the stock setup. Backlit gauges that came on camaros from 90-92. You can buy a set of reverse indiglo guages from SR motorsports. They look pretty damn good for the price. I bought a set myself and installed them, and now I'm having second thougts because I dont think they look as good as my old blue LED setup. If anybody wants to buy em for say.... 50 bucks lemme know

Thank you so much.... Yes they are indiglo and I love them.
To answer someones question about premade LED's. Go to ebay and type in "LED 194" just like that, and behold...... i tried it and boooooh, was not happy. But if someone would like to try it, they are only like 2 dollars a pop on a good auction.

Yeah I saw someone's premade ones also and didn't like them. I figured for about $0.50 more a light I would rather build the DIY ones and know they look good.

They are bright, but thats at max. They come with a dimmer of their own for full control. Also change color from blue or green..... I got them on ebay for about 40 shipped but I saw they for like 18 complete new set the other day! Type in Camaro Gauges!!! Best of luck

89blackgta - where did you (or who's ever those are) get those white gauge faces???? I've got a black w/red lettering interior and it'd look sweet with that white
