Paint ??

I just got done sparying my door jams and stuff and I used a base/clear anyway it went on nice and looked great just went out to take a look and there is like little pin holes all over the clear??....WTF It did not look like that before it dried all the way anybody have a idea what could have made that happen??

Any help would be great because I'm paintting the car tomarrow and I don't want that to happen on outside of the car......

Alot of things could have caused that. I'm assuming its solvent pop from what you said. Its solvent escaping the paint. You possibly could have put it on too thick. How much experience do you have with this type of thing?

sounds like fish eyes maybe. comes from contaminants on the surface you are painting(and other things i cannot think of right offhand) . i'd sand the car again with 600 grit sandpaper and then wipe it down with some sortof surface prep stuff. dupont makes some. can get it at pretty much any paint shop. you can also get some stuff to mix in with your paint or clear to help prevent fish eyes. if the doorjambs did this, i'd probably get some of that as well. If it's just the clearcoat that's like this, just sand it off and respray it.

Well I have done one other car with the same paint with no problums but I now have a HVLP Gravity feed gun and it is ALOT Diffrent......That would make sense because the last coat I put on kinda heavy to help with the orange peel a bit.....

Thanks for the link.....I'm thinking it is one of 3 things.......To thick and that I did on the last coat.....Not waiting long enough for the flash time and maybe to low of air presser.....I was running the inlet psi @ about 20psi that should give me about 8 psi at the tip.....hmmmmmm

No I did not bake it.......

You should be running about 40 PSI inlet pressure. You'll get better atomization and you won't have to put the layers on so thick.
