Repairing a headliner?

Anyone had this problem?? My '87 Iroc-Z headliner ( t-tops ) grey cloth liner just above the passenger side has come off the inner padding. I guess driving around without the t's has allowed the wind to slowly damage it. The inner lining ( a yellow cardboard-like material ) has seperated into alot of frilly layers. Anyone have any suggestions on what I should use to repair it?? i.e brands / types of glue, materials?? I want to aviod messing things up. Thanks.
