Gas door

Does anyone know of a car that has an interior release gas door that will fit on our cars, I don't want a key hole on there, and I dont like the rased spot to open the door. I am thinking like an 86 grand am does anyone have any Ideas if this will fit. If I ever get a day off from work I will go to the junkyard and get one. My mom's old 86 grand am (I wish I had kept that car, but everything was shot on it it had 260k on it when we sold it, and it lasted near to 300k) had a electric release door, but mechanical would be fine with me. Another reason I like the grand am is it was metel I dont know about everyones but my gas door is plastic.

We have an 89 Plymouth Voyager mini-van that also has the mechanical release. Those also have the door on the driver's side like our cars. Whether that even matters or not.
I was also thinking of doing that to my car. I like to think that my gas tank is safer from any predators.
I know those vans are very abundant in salvage yards. I bet if you just measure your gas door, and walk around with a ruler and measure other cars to find one that will work.

how hard was that to do, I figure I would do it when I am fixing the filler neck leak my car has.

Fieros also have that sort of a mechanical fuel door. I was going to play around with something like this, but I never really got around to it. I think its a good idea.

Well, bringing this back from the dead as I posted something similar and than found this post.

all of the parts through Saturn, but wanted to see what kind of door/connector you used? My only concern is with the parts now that connect at the filler door itself.
