ran into problem while aligning hatch

trying to relalign the hatch which as slid to the drivers side 1/6th inch and sticks out about 1/4th inch on the passenger side rear (there is actually a slight dent from the deck hitting the drivers side).

I removed the 16mm nuts under the plastic hatch panel cover and the metal panel that is under the nuts... is there some other trick i need to know to get the rear hatch panel off of the glass?.. its like its glued together with really strong glue.. if it was just silicon im sure i would have been able to separate it.

also 91 t/a spoiler is falling apart (cracks near tips closest to front of car) .. would the late 80's t/a spoiler work without drilling more holes?.. and is there an aftermarket fiberglass one that doesnt have a brakelight mount? (mine has the brakelight in the window)
how many nuts/bolts to remove to take off spoiler?.. which ones exactly? (were some of those 16mm for the spoiler?)

i did read the tech article.. one question about siliconing the hatch panel (once i can get it removed)... is the silicon to keep the hatch panel from sliding or is it just to protect from the weather?

one more question: will aligning this possibly get rid of the horrible poping noise when i go over a bump?.. and possibly reduce hatch movement when going over bumps.. or should i adjust the hatch motor assembly so it pulls down tighter? (guess i should wait till i get the hatch aligned first)

thanks

well i went ahead and took the whole thing apart again and was able to figure out how to adjust it. The spoiler came apart so i left it off and siliconed the holes until i get a replacement spoiler... so the question remains.. will the 87-90 gta style spoiler fit and do they make one without a brake light

Tech article about the hatch alignment.. https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/t...tchalign.shtml

I believe 85-86 spoilers and the fiberglass ones for sale in the above advertising links all do not have the center brake light under the spoiler.
