Headliner your Repair

Headliner your Repair
I had very nice interior in my low mile formula, but there was a little spot on the headliner. I used OXYCLEAN to remove it, and it ate the adhesive, allowing the headliner to sag. The sag continued to grow, so i pulled the headliner out after several attempts to re-glue it. The orignial glue seems to be a silicon foam type glue. Dose anyone know what type of adhesive this is?? what can I buy to re-do the headliner?? Any advice is greatly apreciated.:lala:

I had coffee drops on my original headlier (was there when I bought the car). Fortunately, it was on the pass side, so I never saw it and never attempted to clean it. ![Smilie](https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
From what I understand, 3M spray adhesive works well for attaching new fabric to the headliner board. Be careful not to use a type of glue that could eat away at either your fabric or the fragile board that the car came with.

As was mine, kid... easiest thing in the world - take it out of the box, the next day, just pop the whole thing in. Looks great, too.

actually puting new fabric on my existing headliner was the easisest thing ive ever done next to changing the oil in my 88 I-ROC go to the fabric store and find a foam backed fabric called headliner easy enough cost about 12 bucks next go to an automotive paint store ( Moores paint and supply in ohio ) buy the 3m adhesive take the old headliner out pull the old fabric off and take a scrunge pad ( the rough side opposite a kitchen sponge ) and get all the old foam off lay the new fabric out on the headliner shell and let over-hang an inch or 2 fold back half the fabric and spray the 3m adhesive on it. kind of comes out like silly string press it down firmly and fold back the second half an drepaet whala a brand new headliner for about 15 or 20 bucks still hangin after 6 years
