Quick question for those of you who also did the LED gauges
I did mine this weekend and they look really good. I am having a problem though with them burning up on me. I don't think it's a problem with the resistors. I think that when I'm moving the cluster around that some of the wires in the sockets are touching each other and causing them to short out! Did you guys insulate the wires or anything like that to keep them from touching?? I'm really worried that they are going to short when I'm driving and hit a big bump.
Also if anyone is looking for some 10,000 mcd blue LED's I have about 30 left that I'll sell you.

I haven't put in LEDs for dash lights (yet), but I do think insulating them would be a good idea. Make sure the LEDs are in the right way too. They have a positive and negative side.
Good Luck

If I tried wrapping them with electrical tape they would never end up fitting in the socket. Someone else on the boards suggested using the little straw that comes with a can of WD-40....I think I'll give that a try when I redo the ones I burnt out.

You can get shrink tube at electronics or hardware stores. Just slip it over the wire you need to insulate, and heat it up with a hair dryer, lighter, etc...It'll shrink around the wires and insulate them.
