Go to a local auto parts store like Pep Boys and get a vinyl repair kit. I bought a used dashpad and it was fine except for two small rips about 2inches as well. I bought the kit and it comes with some glue, some leather grain imprint paper, a heater thingy and some colored plastic stuff that you can mix...it was the delux kit. Anyways I ended up not having to use most the stuff...I only used the glue and it patched up the tear pretty well hardly noticible and its held up fine.

Here's plan "b" if it gets really bad.
1. Remove the pad from the dash (not that hard)
2. sand or grind out the split so it forms somewhat of a trough,(v-notch)
3. Fill it with a product called duraglass. Sand flat.
4. Go to a trim shop, get some vinyl material that matches the interior.
4. Spray the upholstery adhesisve on the dash and the pad, and cover same. (not that hard, the pad is mostly square).
5. The next day cut out the areas for the vents and glue them in.
6. Re-install pad.
If that fails, here's plan "c"
Check the aftermarket parts books like Sherman international autobody. They have dash "covers" that slide right over the original w/o removing them. The last I saw for a 3rd gen was about $70.00

Thanks for the tips. But good thing mine is not that bad it only has one rip. The one that was on the car to begin with is an other story it is really messed up and is just sitting in my garage.

Thanks
