Ashtray gone.
In it's place, n2o arm, n2o bottle open, n2o heater, n2o purge. close the cover - presto - nice and clean.
hope to cram in an electric cutout switch this summer.

Ever heard of coinstar?
These machine sthat count your change and give a reciept which you can exchange for cash.. at most grocery stores.
Anyways, when I got my Bird, the change tray was filled to the brim (without the ash tray, change was falling into the console) And it didnt look like a lot, but I cashed out and got like 25 bucks.
Pretty good deal.

dsaint- I think those gauges are the best I've seen in the ashtray. If I ever need digital gauges, I'm definately doing that too.
Right now I use it for coins. I don't know if I'll be putting my electric cutout switch there or if I'll put it under the trunk release switch.

I can't think of anything funny to say right now.
I used it for my window switches, but I'll probably use it for spare change when I get the 4th gen door panels mounted. Switches will be in the door panel.

My car's never running long enough for me to get around to using the ash tray for anything.

i got rid of it completely and made a piece of alumin plate to cover the consoule part. i had top polish that one part there becuz the stupid inspection station failed me for having no indicator for my shifter, so i sanded off the paint to uncover the numbers and whatnot so i decided to polish it up for looks.
i plan on puttin switches where the ashtry was but who knows.
