Re: what are you using your ashtray for
Got an old butter container or cream cheese or some crap like that for mine... My ash tray... Its not really in there. It disappeared... All i got is the door for it. I Plan on either putting some lights in and having the switch there or maybe ill put in a switch for an amp or i don't know. Ill put something that needs a switch just for the purpose of putting a switch in there and look cool. who knows.

Right now all the screws I found on the car. Soon, gonna intergrate some iPod dock in there. Or just switches.

I use the ashtray as a change holder & I'm taking the lighter out & putting a toggle switch in it's place.

Re: what are you using your ashtray for
Removed it. I installed a custom black marble inlay in the console in place of the ash tray.

Re: what are you using your ashtray for
I remember looking at this thread years ago when it first happened. As of now, it has change, screws, and a bent paperclip in it.
Since Ive switched cars from a HDTP camaro to Convertable, and I'm actually the one driving it now rather then someone else I like alot of these ideas.
Rear light is a great idea for a vert!

Re: what are you using your ashtray for
I bought my car from a tweaker. Mine don't have a ash tray or a center council, or a back seat. But when I find one, I'll do something really cool with it.

Re: what are you using your ashtray for
Well my 89 was never runing on the streets so I only used it to put in the interior screws I took off when screwing around on the car

Re: what are you using your ashtray for
hah, funny story actually. My dad's a hardcore smoker, and it's cool with me, but drives me insane when he wants to do it in my vehicles. So.. considering he's a really jumpy big guy, I loaded a spring into the ash tray with triangular block on the left side of it, and crammed the spring in there, rebounding it diagonally off of this block. He tried to open up my ash tray the other day, and instead was inches from having a face full of spring and nearly had a seizure in the passenger seat from fright. Needless to say, he stopped using that ash tray after that day.
Sad story though, when a friend of mine went digging through my car, and had gotten pelted on the cheek with it. I'd normally find it funny, though this friend happens to be one of those 90 lb petite girls. It had broken the skin and all

Switches - I cut out a plastic plate, glued it in, and drilled 4 holes for 4 rocker switches. 2 are used at moment, 1 for manual on fans, 1 for manual TC lockup.

Rawk. Show up at the gig in a Camaro? that's rock and roll like they used to make. I gotta start keeping guitar picks in the car, I've had to bum them off our bass player for our last two shows. Embarressing.

Re: what are you using your ashtray for
I don't smoke...
I put change in the cup holder...
I don't have NOS or any customs that need switches...
I put gas recipts and other things in the cup holder as well...
My phone, stereo remote and other mis stuff goes in the fip open console...
SO! I put my Ipod in there cause the direct jack isn't long enough to stretch to the console where I used to put it when I still had the cassette in there with the converter :P
I'll find somethin fancy to put there someday.

Mine's overflowing with spare change right now. But I'd like to mount three guages in there someday, knida like willie's. But analong and not digital. It's all about the sweep of the needle.
