80 mph cluster to 120mph will it work ??

I have the 80 mph cluster on my 87 T/A. At the junkyard yeaterday, I saw a T/A ( 86-89 I believe ) that has the 120mph cluster and gages. The whole setup looks the same as I have on now. Will this cluster work on my car and will I have to reconfigure the speedo cable to get it to work properly, or will this be an even swap in ??? Thanks Guys !!!

If it is mechanical, it should be no problem, The little cable just turns the speedo, so it doesn't care. But here's a thought. Back when we all had 85mph speedos with the kilometers printed in blue, there was a (factory) speedo drive gear that you could use to make the speedo read in mph instead of kilos. A friend of mine did this, and then removed the dash and airbrushed out the mph so he had a 140mph speedo. You would have to do the math on rear end gearing, don't forget the overdrive needs to be factored in, and then look for the factory gears to make it happen.
