Hey guys, I was thinking about lining various parts of the door with dynamat or some other sound deadening material. My doors rattle and I curious as to whether or not anyone has tried this ..

It won't solve your problem. Dynamat will kill the vibration in a panel. It won't stop a rattle. You'll have better success tearing the door apart and investigating the source of the rattle. Common sources are the door lock and latching rods. They often wear out at the mounting points. You can do a band-aid repair by wrapping the mount location with a zip tie and pulling it up tight. Also look that the insulation pieces that keep the rods behind the inner door trim panel from ratteling against the inner door frame are in place. The improved the design in 89 or 90 switching from a plastic mesh piece that over-wrap the two rods to a molded plastic piece that holds the rods securely. You should also look at the condition of the window side channel felt pieces. Once you've discovered the source of the ratteling and fixed it there is nothing wrong with using Dyanamat too. Just pick a nice warm sunny day and use plenty of it.
