Restore Interior Lighting
Can someone help me out here. I am almost certain there is supposed to be a light for the console glovebox (for an 85+ Firebird) but I can't figure out how it is supposed to work. I see a small white plastic piece inside where the light would shine through and I have found an extra socket down in the console. Two problems though:
-can't figure out how the darn thing would mount; and
-can't figure out how it would switch on and off (my meter reads 12V all the time).
Any help would be appreciated.

There should be a switch that goes at the end of the console shift plate. It's a push button switch that the console lid pushes down when it's shut. I think you need to lift up the end of the shift plate and see what's there. Sounds like your missing parts.
