dash swap from 89 to 91-92
Hey folks I have had many problems with my plastic dash cracking in my 1989 RS. It appears as though the 91-92 dashes are constructed a little better. (Not talking about pads, but the actual plastic entire dash)
Now I want to put a 91-92 dash in but I will have to put in the new digital speedo as well. Does anyone have specific directions on the steps do this? I know it has been done. I know the plastic 91-92 dash will mount fine. I just need to know how you convert the from the analog to a digital.
THANKS!

Hi,
There have been alot of post started to do this exact swap, but in everyone nobody has really posted a step by step instructions on it.
I want to do this also in my 84, I have the dash and everything sitting in the garage, but until I know what is really involved in this swap I don't want to start.
I do know you need to rewire the 2 harnesses on the back of the cluster, they look the same, but the pins don't go to the same parts in the cluster as they did in the older style cluster/
As for the VSS, on my car since its a Carb engine. From what I read here, what I need to do is buy the Speed sensor that mounts to the trany. Run the cable up to the buffer box, and then from the buffer box to the cluster.
At least that is what I think I need to do
If your able to do this swap, please take pictures as you go and post them here!! I'll do the same if I ever get to this project.
