Door won't shut?
As many of you know I am doing the copmlete 4th gen swap including engine. Well one of the things that is starting to bother me is my driver side door. It is sagging down for some reason. Also when I go to shut it, it stays shut but it won't hsut all the way. It sticks out a little. Anyone else having this problem? How do I fix it? Thanks for your help!

Located on the bottom section of the door mount in the jamb is a pin with 2 bushings in it. Most if not all parts stores should carry new ones for you. You dont actually have to replace the pin, but I definitly recommend it. I think I got mine for like 10 bucks or so from AutoZone.
As far as changing them, its best to have a friend help ya if possible. Lemme see if I can lay it out for ya here.
1. Open door
2. Place a jack under the back area of the door to prop it up. I'd use a piece of wood so you dont mess up your paint. Remember these doors are extremely heavy. Don't jack up the door, just support it so when you remove the pin it wont sag down and possible mess up the top mount.
3. Tap the old pin out with a hammer. Dont forget to make sure the door is supported. EDIT: There is a clip with a tab sticking out on the pin to stop the pin from popping out. Make sure you remove it.
4. Remove the old bushings. If you dont know what I mean by bushings they are located on the top and bottom of the bottom door bracket mount pin holes.
5. Put the new bushings in.
6. Carefully tap the new pin in. If I remember correctly the pins have a clip on them that will stop the pin from coming back out. Make sure you tap the pin all the way in so the tab pops out. You may also have to lower or raise the door to get the pin in.
This is all assuming your upper hinge is in good condition. The pin is located in the bottom hinge. Its very common that the doors will sag because of a bad pin and bushings

Oh forgot to mention you may have to remove the Spring that holds the door open. I usually just carefully remove it with a good screw driver or plyers. Or you can do it the right way and use a spring compressor

It could be a couple of things, mine doesn't stay open because the 'pin' or whatever you want to call it that the door hinge piece rotates on isn't there anymore. Just take a look at your passenger side and then go look at the drivers side and you should be able to tell if something is missing/wrong.
