What all different kind of front seats will fit our cars

I was just wondering what other types of cars front seats will fit our cars. I saw a camaro with some fiero seats in it, at least that is what the guy said anyway. But it is such a pain to find good front seats and I was wondering if anyone had tried different ones. Thanks in advance Jason

I have in my car the front seats from a Cavalier. The previous owner was so fat that he bent the drivers seat.

Yes 4th gen camaro seats are direct bolt in's. Do a search on this forum, you'll find tons of threads on the swap.

I doubt very many different types of seats are just going to bolt right in. But I'm sure about anything will fit if you have enough time and money.

any 82-present f body seats will bolt in with no modifications. as for other seats, as long as it will fit width wise, you should be able to bolt the seat tracks from your car to the new seats with a little modification. or you can go with a good aftermarket company like recaro or corbeau which you can also get seat brackets for most cars

I put 1985 toyota celica front seats in my 88 camaro. These seats are IMHO better than the recaros and other aftermarket seats.

The driver's seat has adjustable boolster, adjustable hip support, adjust thigh support. They adjust with large *****.

Then it has this pump up adjustable back. You pump a rubber ball and the whole back fills with air. On the side of the seat theres 3 buttons. 1 for top, 1 for middle and 1 for bottom so you can push them and let the air out of each spot to get it just right for you.

The pass. seat only has the adjustable hip and thigh supports. The other is fixed. Both seats has tilt back and forth and slide up and down head rest.

It wasnt a hard swap to put them in. I could'nt use the stock camaro tracks. I had to cut the floor mounts of the toyota tracks, weld a steel strip plate across the front and back of the tracks, then weld 4 long "feet" to the strip plates I welded on. Then drilled the holes for the studs/taps.

I will cover the "feet" with carpet so they dont show. The only probs I had are the seats are alittle wide for the camaro, but I was still able to pull it off. I just had to remove the outside bottom seat belt deal, put the seats in, then put the seat belts back in.

I don't have pics of the seats in the car yet, but i do have pics of the seats and how the stock track looked and the plates I welded on to make them fit in my camaro.

Take a look http://community.webshots.com/user/nightrider327 look at the "$550 camaro daily driver project" album

Peel and Seal

Does the peel and seal as good as dynomat or at least close?
Does it smell and linger?
Does it stick good?
Is the price decent?
Do tell.

I talked to quite a few people in car audio, pro touring, street rods, and customs before I done my sound and heat proofing. Every single person that I talked to that knew about peel and seal said it's much better dynomat, and other high $$$$ stuff like it.

I spent $130 at lowes for 6 rolls of peel and seal and a 4' x 25' roll of Reflectix insulation (the alum./bubble wrap/alum. stuff)

I was able to cover about 75-80% of the floor pans, plus full cover behind both doors, and under the whole t-top headliner with peel and seal. I started at the fire wall and worked back. I went to the top of the gas tank hump with full cover. Then started putting in on the 1/4 panels behind the plastice trim, on the back of the car where the tail light screws come through, and place like that.

Then I got 3 cans of the cheaper brand duro spray adhesive, rolled out the Reflectix insulation, made the cuts I needed. Took it back up sprayed it with the adhesive and layed the Reflectix insulation down. I wasnt able to do the full run in one pc. Cause of how wide the car is, the dips, humps, etc. I made two runs one on drivers side on on pass side then to get the tight spots I missed I had to cut smaller pc. to go down here and there.

The 4' x 25' roll done the whole floor pan from firewall to rear tail panel, from side to side. I even had some left over.

You asked about how the peel and seal sicks. Let me say this if it aint cold outside make darn sure thats where you want it before you push on it, cause once it's stuck it aint coming back up with out a fight.

It does/did smell but from only like the 1st 2-3 days, after that the smell was gone.

I'm sorry about writing a book here but it takes it to get all the info.

When I talked to folks about peel and seal, seen post about it, etc I saved what was said. Here's what some people said about it

"Peel and Seal is a construction/roofing product that can be used as a carpet underlayment/insulator in cars. It's ashphalt sandwiched between two layers of aluminum. It works well as a heat/sound barrier, like Dynomat, but is considerably cheaper.

i just used peel and seal today that stuff is realy stick and easy to form to contours for $12 a roll i will never use any thing else
.
I used peel and seal since it was easy to get. worked great, easy to use and molds into every nook and cranny.

where can I get dyna mat

go to Lowes and get Peel N Seal which is the same stuff as Dynomat, but A WHOLE LOT CHEAPER!
Shawn

A while back a thread was posted about using the peel and stick that could be purchased at Lowe's or Home Depot. For the guys and gals who have done this to their floors and doors, my question is--How satisfied are you with this? Has it reduced the sound level inside? Would you do this again? Any suggestions for someone who is about to do the same?

yes i would as a matter of fact i did my van and next is my Z

I can't comment yet on the sound deadening qualities, but I just did my entire cabin. Real easy to work with, shape, and cut. And it sticks real good (as in "I can't unpeel it!") as long as the surface is rustfree and clean. I got it at Lowes, $13 a roll, I used 5 1/2 rolls to do the floor, sides, and roof. Don't smell anything, but then again, it can still breath cause the interior isn't in yet.

A friend of mine used Peel & Seal with fantastic results. He got it at Home Depot, I think.

I layed some peel 'n seal in my car and yes, it does make a difference in the noise level. Also its not a half bad insulator, the interior seems a bit warmer now than it did before."

As far as the Reflectix insulation goes I only heard 2 people talk about it, but that was after I bought it. When I got the peel and seal lowes only had 6 rolls, and I done figured I needed 8 to do everything, so I was looking at other insulation and seen the Reflectix. Just buy the looks and feel of it I knew it would work good so I got 1 big roll of it too.

Here's what them 2 guys said about it......

"I had mildewed carpet and pad in my car so I stripped it out and replaced the 'pad' with some stuff I picted up at Home Depot that looks like a two space blankets sandwitching a bubble wrap. Haveing been an insulator for anumber of years I knew tis would work to not only deaden sound but also sheild from heat. Bonus, it weighs nothing and works.

I am going to reinsulate my entire car, A local hot rod guru told me about this stuff called reflectix, its sold at Home Depot.
http://www.reflectixinc.com/
Check it out, its foiled on both sides and was told to install it with spray tac. Its not really that expensive either. Supposed to keep heat and noise out, cool air in and music in the car.
Just my .02 worth!"

If you worry about weight here's some info for you from my install.
The Reflectix insulation is very light.

Reflectix insulation 4' x 25' roll 7 lbs.
Peel & seal 6 rolls with the cardboard and all 22 lbs
backing paper, tubes, etc from peal & seal 4 lbs.

so the total weight of the peel and seal was only 18 lbs.

Again i'm sorry about the extra long post guys, but maybe it will help some of yall out and save some people alittle money

I have 1991 Daytona IROC front seats in my camaro. I was able to use the stock power tracks from my car but I had to make some brackets to mount the new seats to them.

You can about make any seat fit if its the right size by using the stock seat tracks and mod them to the new seats after removing there rails.

I was just goofing around on cardomain and found these.

They are 1994 Supra rear seats. Anyone try these? They look like they might be pretty close.
