Broken trunk lock
My trunk lock cyllinder was broke when I bought the car. I live in Germany but last week, my wife went back to the states so I had her pick up a new lock cyllinder at the Pontiac dealership. I don't know if this is what I was looking for. It's more like a kit. I count eleven pieces including some really small springs. The real kicker though -- no key!
Is there some way to magically set this thing to work with my door key? Anybody have instructions for putting this all together? The part number is 1239-8672. Shouldn't it have come with a key? Why would you sell a lock cyllinder w/o a key?
Please advise. Crawling back and opening the trunk from the inside is kind of embarassing.

I still don't have a working trunk lock cylinder... (mine has the remote release thankfully)... When I went to order one from the dealer, they only offer it like that... You have to have a locksmith key it or something.. Not sure, didn't want to deal with it at the time, and haven't gotten to it yet.... hope this helps...

Did your rear lock cyllinder come in a dozen pieces or already assembled? If un-assembled, how hard was it to put together?
I think I will try a local Opel dealer but most likely, I think I will have to mail the cyllinder back to the states to get it keyed.
I still think it's assinine that they don't provide a key with the cyllinder. More-so that the dealer didn't point this out in the first place.
