Painting louvers

I'm in the process of painting my hood louvers.

I took 400 grit sand paper and scuffed them up pretty good and I sprayed a coat of primer on them. The primer coat came out really good, but I forgot to scuff up the primer and I shot them with black and the paint fisheyed right infront of me.

I'm pretty PO'd at myself right now, but once they dry I'll sand the black off and get back down to primer.

Sanding it down, then shooting them should remedy the fish-eye problem I just witnessed right? Shouldn't happen again?

sanding has nothing to do with getting fish eye. It sounds like you used a lacquer primer and enamel paint and it lifted the primer. Sand it all off and just spray it with paint. You don't need primer on the plastic as long as it's sanded well.

Anyways, I stripped the paint off, and repainted them.

Unfortunetly, I ran out of gloss black. So for the time being I painted them white. I thought it would look trashy, but I'm actually really liking the look of it.

paint them black.

Did you have them on the car around 6:00 yesterday? You drove by and it didn't look quite right.

Yeah, I did have it finished.

I'm picking up some more black paint today. I wasn't too sure I liked it either. I'll let it grow on me for tonight and see how much I like it tomorrow lol.
