honeycomb weight

does anyone know how much the honeycomb bumper things weigh? i would like to take them off on my drag car. does the bumper covers sag without it?

The honeycomb itself doesn't weigh much but the metal bumper underneath weighs a little. They probably weigh about 20-30lbs or so. I don't think you rear bumper will be a problem but the front bumper might sag with nothing under it.

Yeah, the honey comb is light.. maybe 5 pounds. Leave it in. Don't forget, on your "drag car", if there's no support behind that bumper cover, it'll mush itself inward if you go fast enough... and there go your aerodynamics.
