trunk lock

Is there a way to rig up a trunk lock that doesn't have a pull down motor? Kinda like on the old Cutlass or my 92 Caprice? Just wondering if anyone had done this swap?

Yes, people have done it before, I don't remember exactly how though. Try a search, but I'll give it a shot.

I think you have to pull the rear interior panel off soyou can see the motor. Then close the hatch and let it pull down. Then crawl back there and unplug the motor.

Also, this is more body and interior related than appearance and detailing, so I'm sending it over there.

Mines broken, all I did was unplug the motor.

I lift the unit, close the trunk and push down. The trunk doesn't pop up at all.
