Remove paint from my grille

my grille was recently ripped off of my car, thats right ripped... to make a long story short someone was trying to be a hard *** and was sabotaging cars on my street, luckily i was still awake and heard them in my driveway but by the time i got out there they were across the yard and my grille was gone... anyway back to my point. I found a new one at a junkyard, 3 bucks not a crack on it, but it was spray painted white... what is the easiest way to remove the paint from the grille? Thanks in advance, I havent attempted to do anything yet I want ideas before I start.

If the paint on that is one there is fine, just scuff it with some steel wool and paint it the colour you want it to be. It will be very time consuming to remove all the white paint from the corners... If you want... you could always sit there and sand it all off. But painting would be easier....

Paint thinner? I had white paint from a spill at the body shop all over mine, I left it on there for a year before I had time to get to it, and thinner took it right off and didn't hurt the black finish of the grill.

if the paint is perfect.. get a red scotch bright and it'll do the job.. if it isn't, sand it off to make it even and finish the sanding with 500... tinner won't work well on hardened paint... you may try it but sanding will be much faster if it is enamel... and tinner won't work at all if it is urethane or clear coat

how old was it? tinner is not supposed to work thru clear coat and urethane... we use it everyday to clean stuff from the paint without dammaging it
