Question about factory paint codes
My IROC is the same color as Allan's(Iroczone.com Roc Of the Month) and i beleive thats "Metallic Fireball Red" or something stupid like that. does anybody know the paint code for that color. I need to repair a few rust spots that formed over this past winter, but i do not have enough money to get the whole car painted which would be ideal. I just want to color match it so i dont have primer spots all over it making it look stupid. Also has anybody here done this themselves and how were the results, if its not noticable when the car drives by people i will be happy. If you inspect it close and notice i do not care. Just as long as this wont stand out from a distance.

It's possible to make it look decent, just make sure when you mask an area off, use a natural seam. For example, if you have a spot on your door, be sure to mask off everything but the door, don't just mask off a little 4x4 section, or you'll have little raised areas where you did the repair as the paint will be thicker there.

if you want something quick... that will look OK from far, but won't pass a customary look up close... get the paint... seal everything off but the quarter panel... prep the surface and shots the places you need... go in thin layers untill it is covered... from the in of the place to the factory paint... try not to go too far form the repaired spot and it should be ok for the moment.. but don'T expect anything great
