hey all you james bonds', macgyver's, and gadget obsessed....

i am looking for pics of interiors where you have put in stealth panels or hidden switches...
im not living in a fantasy world, where i will have switches for a smokescreen or a license plate flipper, i just want something that will tuck away when not in use...

my two main concerns are:

1. not having my interior look like an f-16 cockpit with a crapload of switches..

2. keeping the ****-dickers at bay, i dont want someone throwing my "caltrop deploy" or "passenger eject" switch at the wrong time..

ok, maybe i do live in a fantasy world :lala: :lala: :lala: .. but thats beside the point...

i did a search, but with marginal results... preciate ur help in the matter..

one place where you could probably hide all these switches could be in your ashtray or center console? Sorry don't have any pics of this but its a thought

If you have a roof console.....

I installed a fake alarm LED years ago and mounted the on-off switch behind the flashlight in the roof console. The flashlight needs to be removed from the console to gain access to the switch.

I installed an kill switch in the rear ash try . just took out the whole thing then drilled a hole in it and installed a toggle switch . put it back in and now you have a hidden kill switch that ie connected to the fuel injection fuse. works great because when on the car will crank but never start. and who would think to look there

the ashtray area was what i found when i did a search.. i like the idea, but i smoke.. doh! and i aint tossin my cig butts on the highway in cali, 1000$ fine.. (dont want to test it)

the rear ashtray idea i like, mostly because there are rarely passengers back there, and like you said "who would think to look there?"

i wish i had one of those roof consoles.. that would pretty much be the answer to what im lookin to do ...

thanks you guys for the feedback :hail: :hail:

Some needy jerk popped out my locks a few months after the tumblers in my ignition switch gave out.

I had no door locks and no need for an ignition key to start the car. I had to do something but I was in college and had no money. Ace hardware sold me a tiny monentary button for a door bell, I wired it into the clutch switch and mounted it in the lower seat belt housing. It was the only place that i could reach and push in the clutch and turn the ignition.

The only people who notice it are the cops. Apparently they have a problem with someone speeding in a car with no door locks and no ignition keys!!

Another option is what alot of highway / state police officers, at least in the SE, use. Go get a dimmer switch for an older car, you know, the one that mounts in the floorboard on the left hand side. Wire that up to either the coil, FI fuse, whatever, and you can hide it under the carpet and / or floor mat. Then when you crank your car, click the switch with your foot once, and it starts. When you get out to park it, hit it again, and no start.

Simple, cheap, and it's helped but some idiots in jail who tried to steal cop cars :P
