how do i fix this..

Ok, me and a friend were test fitting some wheels on my car. I let him jack up the car while i went and got the wheels from inside his garage. Everything went fine untill the car was lowered and i went to open the door. I think he must have jacked it up in the wrong place or something and bent something..The door hits the fender when you try to open it. When you look down the body the door sticks out about a quarter inch. What exactly happened and what do I do to fix it? Thank you!!

you sure the door wasnt open when u guys lowered it and it hit something on the way down? thats what it looks like to me. i cant see u lifting it from the bottom on anything wrong and do that kind of damage. if u lifted it from the floorpan youd know it, maybe the jack was under the door? i think you'd notice something like that tho..

dude, you definitly jacked it up by the body and not the frame... you twisted the entire door frame and probably the hinges too... I dont know what to tell you about how to fix it

Looks like he jacked it up on the fender under neath. I would try loosening the fender all up and moving it. There r 2 bolts underneath and u prob know the ones u seen when u open the hood. That should be the only ones ull need to loosen to move it the others r attached to the bumper cover and u can move it a lil.Just try to move it while the bolt r loose n get the door shut. If you can get the door shut nice n the hood gap and everything lookin decent tighten it back up. I think that might work it might not also tho just dependin on how bad the bend it. So u could even maybe just take them bottom 2 bolt loose and pull it out a lil and try to bend it back a lil and tighten it.

from the first pic it looks like the fender was bent up and in.Or you might even need to add some shims. If thats doesnt work i would just get a new fender. I seen this happen b4

I never jack up anyones f-body, I always let the owner of the car set the jack. My fenders are actually popped out, not in like yours.

Wow that sucks. Time for some subframe connectors. They're great to use as jacking points.

:hail: :hail: :hail: I did what you said and i was able to get the fender to look ok and the door to close and open without interferance. The fender is bent kinda bad from the jacking and from where the door opened on it and will need replacing. But I saw a firebird at a local yard and I will be pulling its' fender plus a few other things off this weekend. This is temporary till the car is painted this summer though, so you really helped me Thank you!!
