Test Fit 4th Gen T/A Wing: HELP!

Test Fit 4th Gen T/A Wing: HELP!
I bought my fiberglass 4th gen repro wing from the TGO classifieds. It's new, but I didn't get the hardware or installation instructions. After test-fitting to the car today, I see that the long clips on the side of the hatch glass frame (for the old GTA style wing) seem totally wrong for the new wing. I thought the new wing was supposed to use the factory clips.
Anyway- I'm attaching a pic of the existing clip and a couple of the wing. Can someone who has put this wing on their car please tell me how the arms that extend forward are supposed to be installed?

It looks like a pin is supposed to screw into the spoiler and slide into the slot on the hatch clips.
How firm are the arms on that wing?
When I had my 91-92 T/A Spoiler mounted on my 86, I didn't hook up anything on the arms since I had no provision on the hatch. Used the 4 hatch bolts and I was good to go. I just put some stick on foam to keep the arms from rattling on the glass.

That's what I originally thought too, but the mounting point on the spoiler is between the 1st and 2nd clip on the hatch. Those clips are spot-welded on so I can't relocate them.
I know the hatch was lined up correctly because the bottom of it has a "notch" where it goes from the glass to the decklid. Also, the existing hatch clips were covered up by the GTA spoiler (the old wing fit over them). If somehow this spoiler was supposed to screw to the clips it would make the spoiler stick 1/2" off of the glass & you'd see the clips.

Oh, ok, I see what you are saying.
Mount the spoiler to the deck lid and see how sturdy the arms are. Might not even have to clip the the arms to the hatch.
This is my 91-92 wing on my 86.
(edited to keep on topic)

The 4th gen spoiler doesn't use the GTA wing hardware. Only the stock GTA-style wing uses that stuff.
The 4 posts in the back just use bolts of whatever size. The tabs on the front of the spoiler are J-shaped that screw to the spoiler and wrap around the edge of the window. It's a half-assed setup, but after you bend and tweak them, they stay. I'm sure that whoever it is that bought out/replaced GTAuto can sell you a hardware kit.

I am getting ready to order my 4th gen spoiler and i am just wondering how you got your old one off. I havent really looked at mine yet but i was just wanting some info from someone that has already take off the wrap around spoiler and put on the new 4th gen spoiler. Any and all help is very apreciated.

Piece of cake. Open the hatch, pop out the rubber plugs that cover the bolts and take out the 2 bolts that hold the rear part of the spoiler and the 2 that hold the 3rd brakelight on 87-up cars. Then lift up a little on the spoiler and push forward to release it from the clips on the side.
Anyone else have a 4th gen wing with tips on mounting it?

Nice car Gambit69. I was also thinking about the 4th gen style wing for my Kitt, but I decided to put that idea on hold till after the LT1. Let me know how it all works out, hopefully the wing problem will be an easy fix.
