Power Windows.....suck

Forgive me if this isn't the right area to post in.....

I did a search on power windows getting stuck,
and while I found plenty of posts on it, I didn't
see one that quite mentioned what I was looking
for.

With that I bring it here, hoping someone can help.

My passenger side window will not roll up.
The motor *sounds* like it's working fine.
The window is throughly down, so it's unlikely
I'll be able to pull on it while someone else pushes
the button.....besides, that's only a quick fix anyhow.

Is there an easy way to get inside the door?
Do I need any special tools?
And once inside, what do I look for?

Please excuse my ignorance and help a girl out?

Thanks guys.

sorry didnt mean to be so short, the computer was needed for a minute. honestly i dont know! ive never taken it apart. it seems like a few screws holding that panel on. and i think once that is off you could see the guts of the door and maybe size up the problem. good luck!

hey, first you unscrew the armrests there should be like three screws and unscrew the black plastic piece that houses the interior door handle. there is some white plastic screws/plugs. take a flathead screw drive and pry the panel from the door. be careful those plastic pieces are easy to break. then you should be able to access the window motor.

okay first take the arm rest off there should be three long screws mine are torque head screws you might be lucky and yours are philips or flat head anyway take these screws out and pop off your arm rest. next, take off the door handle and the plate that houses it. in order to do this there are again i belive three screws again mine are torque head you might have flat or philps head take those out and pop the plate off then pull the lock bar the little black think with the orage strip on it off with the panel now you are ready to remove the carpte peice that makes your door look good. just carfully pull this off but make sure that you don't rip any of the little plastic clips out of the back of the carpet. now your door framing is exposed to you and you can see your window and listen to you motor and all that fun stuff. good luck. hope i was helping.

or buy a door panel puller for 5 bucks. tkae the armrest off, slide the puller (or prybar) in and pry the plastic screws out that hold the panel in. be very careful.

when putting the panel back on, just push the plastic screws back into the proper holes with a little force and your done. if you do break some of the screws, you can probably by more for like 25 cents a piece.

If the window only has trouble going UP and it sounds as if the motor is working, it is probably the window REGULATOR, the component that aids the window in raising. It has a metal band that coils when the window is lowered, storing energy to assist in raising the heavy window. Replacing it will require dissasembling the inner door rails. If you didn't know how to remove the panels, then it's not a job I would tackle alone.
