Center Console

I know these types of questions have been asked and answered 100's of times, but I did search and really couldn't find a definite answer to my question. So, anyway, I have a camaro with a 5 speed. From the information i've gotten, I should get a console out of a camaro or firebird with a standard transmission. My first question is, is there a diference in the 4th gens five speed and six speed consoles, and if so, which one should I look for? Also, will the radio pod in the camaro (looks like its connected to the center console) need to be cut, along with the console?

Alright, I'm going to make this easier for me, Which console should I get for my car, and what modifications to it would have to be done to make it all line up?

Thanks in advance

Get a console from a 97+ car......You WILL need a manual plate......

The 5 and 6 six consoles are the same, either will work, the ONLY difference is the shift pattern........

Comes with 4 cupholders and 2 extra cigarette lighters......A place to mount switches.....

Here is a pic of mine installed with some cutting to make the 3rd Gen radio pod to work

Any more questions just ask.......

What year firebird console is that? It looks identicle to the one I had in my '94 Trans AM, except for the cigarette lighter (I think...I'm trying to remember, but it's been a while) Anyway, so my best bet would be to get one from a newer model 5 speed? And it will bolt right up with minimal cutting? What exactly do I have to cut, as I'm sort of nervous doing this, I'm never really done anything like this.

91zconvt, the console pictured is only found on 97+ fbodies. it looks almost like the previous years except for the cupholders and extra outlet. You will have to cut the stock console you have now to use your radio pod. your best bet is to take both consoles and compare them side by side. the 4th gen console will bolt right in with no problems. Id suggest measuring twice and cutting once for the radio pod. Im not sure how to mount it to the 4th gen console you will have to ask FLYNLOW92rs.

Thanks, I knew something looked different. Where are thbe other three cup holders? It has the one in the center, just like mine did, but where are the other three? Also...I've only seen consoles out of firebird's in thirdgen's. Would camaro one's work too? I don't really know the difference between the two. What's different?

On another note, I found a set of two tone black/gray camaro seats at a junk yard. The guy wants $150 for all of them. Is that a good price? They look to be in good condition, just need a good scrubbing.

Thanks for all the info. I don't know what I'd do without you guys
