Pulling Nose and Fender
I am going to try and pull a used nose clip and left fender this weekend off a 1992, to replace the damaged ones on my 1991. Since weather might be somewhat cold, and possilby have rain. How long/hard will this be?? Any tricks as I have not pulled any body parts off this car since I have had it. I don't even know where to begin to start pulling at. Any tips would be very helpful.

For the front nose piece you should first remove the four 10mm nuts on each end of the nose piece that connects to the front fenders. They are not that hard to get to. On the passenger side lay underneath the car and after moving some plastic pieces out of the way you can reach your arm way up and remove the first nut, followed by the other three. On the Drivers side remove the two horns and then you can get to the top two nuts from above then go underneath and remove the bottom two nuts. After that there are a bunch more bolts, screws and plastic grommet fasteners on the top and bottom edge holding it on. You'll see when you get to it.
The Fenders are straight forward, just remove all the bolts on the top and bottom edges and inside the door jamb. You also have to remove the inner fender well plastic liner which is held in place with a few small screws and grommets. The job should be easier after the nose piece is removed.

Ok, so it will take a little while.
Its in muddy field so I will need to take board or something to lay on.
No major specail tools. Just ratchet, wrench, exensions, maybe swivel, screwdriver and thats about it?
Thanks for info.
Anyone else have other tips, I'm all ears

I would take a tarp with you instead of a plank. Start by removing the bolts on the hood on the left side, and all bolts on the fender, then remove the rocker panel gfx and the one bolt that is just under the fender where you took off the rocker gfx at. Now with the hood open you will see the headlight holder or what ever its called. On the sides of it there are some 10mm bolts holding it onto the radiatior support with a bracket, take those bolts off so the headlight holder can come off with the bumper. Now its time to crawl under the car.
Start by removing the brace that goes from the frame to fender, its right next to the 3 nuts for the lower spoiler. And while your under there remove the 3 nuts for the spoiler and the 4 for the bumper to fender. You will need an swivel and extension. Go to the other side and repeat the same process with the exception of removing the brace to fender since you wont be needing that fender. Now the entire bumper should beable to come off with the lower spoiler still attached. The fender should also be ready to come off, there may be a blot that is holding it on by the radiator if you werent able to get it off when you were taking out the 10mm bolts with the hood open.
It may take 2 to 4 hours to remove everything. If your lucky you will have some cynderblocks and a jack to put under the spindles to have the car safely jacked up so you can access everything better. I should have done that when I removed the front clip from the IROC a few summers ago. I felt like a snake having to slither under the front to acces everything.

You guys are making this way too complex. You need about 3 tools and a little time. It's nothing but removing screws and bolts. I've removed and replaced my nose on my 91 firebirde about a million times because Ive been custom fabbing a new one on there. If your removing fenders you'll have to unbolt the brackets for the hood to get the fender off. But don't sweat it. Just do it one side at a time. Pull on fender and then bolt the hood back up. Its a lot easier then removing the whole thing. Good luck. Email me if you have any more specific questions.

It is easy. For the fenders, the only hard part is getting the antenna cable off, I just cut it. For the entire front nose. There are screws ataching to each fender. To get access to the Pass side you need to take out the batter, to get access to the Drivers side you need to pull the horn off. Do not separate the front spoiler from the bumper, there is no reason and it is a lot of work. There are 6 plastic clips on the bottom also. After you get those bolts off, there are 6 more bolts that atach the Headlight pannel to the car. It is pretty easy to do, took me an hour or so to get the whole clip off. Here is a pic of the bumper off, should give you a good idea of where all the bolts are.

Ok, I was guessing 3-4 hours.
Antenna wont be issue, I dont need the right fender, just left and nose.
I wont beable to jack car up, its in a mud/dirt field, jack will just sink in the ground. I don't have any tarps, just a 3x8 sheet of 1/2" fiber board.
hopefully the tires arnt defalted and I can crawl under car to access bottom of nose.

I hope they have it on a slight slope. The one I had to take off was on a V shaped dip in a flat lot, just my freakin luck the front tires were in the middle of the V and made it real fun getting everything off. Good luck and have fun

I'll see if I can find some board to set a jack on. Hopefully the board wont sink into the ground, and I can lift car up just a little.
Didn't think of that before

Im about to change the driver's side fender in my TA. So i don't have to remove the whole hood? I can just take off the bolts for the hood bracket where it bolts to the fender and leave it like that?
Is that safe? Wont the hood fall off or something??

May it's different from year to year, but I didn't have to remove the horn or the batt. to get my stuuf off, or the car I took it from. Im not aerguing with anybody, I just think it may be diffrent.

Not saying you have to, that is just how I did it. Out of curiosity, how did you get the very top nut off on each side of the bumper assembly without taking out the horn and battery. I couldnt seem to reach em any other way.

Heres what you folks helped me get.
I was able to access the 4 outta 5 nose to fender bolts from up top.
Drivers side only had 4 in it, that lower was missing.
Pass side I had to remove that flap, and get the lower one.
I did this w/o jacking up car. the front valance was already off.
I spent 45 in rain buy myself.
Came back later with help, spent just tad over an hour.
So ALMOST 2 hours.
