Anyone with ASCD hood, please enter

Hello everyone,

I just recieved my SS hood in the mail the other day, and have put it on my car. Well, I am not pleased with the way it fits. It says that the hood needs to be "fitted" to the car. Well I'm not sure what that means. One side the gaps are perfect. The other side, the gap gets bigger towards the font of the car. Also with the hood shut, it does not sit flush with the fender. There are high and low spots. How do I fit my hood to my car? How do I get it to sit flush? Has anyone else had these issues with their hoods?

that sounds like it could be a problem with the car or the hood maybe you should have a shop check it out especially if you have a friend that works for a shop that could do it for free

Maybe your car was in a previous accident. I installed mine with no problems at all...fit great! I have installed 4 other ASCD hoods....but..all of those cars were in a previous accident....and they didn't fit well at all. So....I'd make sure your car wasn't in an accident....before you start to shave it down...

I got my hood in about 6 weeks ago but havent had time to put it on. While getting to my house the hood was chipped, and when we picked it up at the freight place they opened it up to make sure everything was ok. So when we told hawk third gen about it they said since the freight company opened it theres nothing they can do about it. Basically the process of getting the hodd has already started out on a bad note and the thing isnt even on the car yet.

My car was in an accident, but it was very minor. The stock hood fits perfect.

My crate was also extremely mangled when I got it. Fortunately the hood was fine, just a small ding in the very back that I should be able to repair
