bolt in roll cage

bolt in roll cage

i know theyre not as strong, but i was thinking about just getting a bolt in 4 point cage so i can mount my racing harnesses up to them safely...anyone have any expierences with bolt in cages?

i need my car...i cant afford to have it in a shop while its getting welded in..and i dont really need the strength of the weld in cage, i need it for the harnesses

it compresses the spine in the event of a collision...you have to mount the harnesses on a cage in order for them to be safe

why do you need harnesses if you're not going that fast to need a roll cage

Why a 4 point?


Sub 12 second runs require a 6 point..

You wont pass any with a 4..

Just something to keep in mind.

ok you said you want to put a bolt in cage to mount your harness up "safely". well i guess that is safer than having your harness boled to nothing. inmo, do it right you just might have a chance if you wreck you car

NHRA Rules (as well as here in NJ) say at 13 seconds you need a driveshaft loop, at 12 seconds you need a roll cage, and at 11 seconds you need a 5 point harness

id start with the driveshaft loop, its gonna take more work to get it to break 12's, so you got some time.
