powerwindow motor
need to replace pass. side motor -- its dead, drivers side is very slooow up and down. easy fix ?
i would imagine genuine gm parts would be the best, unless someone makes quicker more durable ones. (my lasted about 10 years, so i'm not complaining)
92 rs 305 tbi
thanks

i bought my motor from advance auto parts, not a bad price..
it would help to have a friend help out..
just need to pull the door panel off, its good to have th window all the way down.
after that
i drilled out the three rivets holding the motor to the regulator, then i moved the glass all the way back up and wedged something in there to hold it up then, i just put the new motor in and used the bolts and nuts given in the box, i also used osme locktight, and lock washers to hold everything together..
i has to drill the holes bigger in the door to allow the screws to fit.
took about an hour.

Watch out for the spring tension !!!! Before removing the motor from the regulator. It's ideal to have it in this position so you can drill a hole where it shows in the attached picture. But with it inop you may not be able to. Once you remove it plug it into the harness again out of the car. Try tapping on the motor while someone uses the switch to see if it will start to move to the right position. If not clamp the arm and housing that holds the motor in a vise lightly so that it can't move when you pop the motor out of it. don't bend anything. otherwise you'll have that thing snap at you hard and you could get hurt.
Disconnect wires to motor and drill out rivits to regulator - motor. Move window half way up and wedge it in place. Slide the motor and regulator backwards. follow the above by ...Drill that 1/4 hole where the arrow points and run a bolt threw there to keep the thing from snaping when the motors removed.
good luck...
